UD Module - Warranty
- Revised 9/1/2023 -
Prerequisites:
Warranty terms mentioned on this page provide details and limitations for the execution of warranty services for a unit purchased. Duration of warranty is measured in calendar days and the effective start date is the date that unit shows as delivered to the customer's address via tracking number. If tracking services are unavailable then the order date applies as the start date of warranty coverage. To utilize warranty services both the unit and the customer must be eligible. Limitations on a unit's eligibility for warranty services is determined by days elapsed since delivery or purchase, and a customer's eligibility to receive exchange services is determined by not violating policies as found on the policy page here.
OE Replacement DRAC/VSSB Warranty:
All OE DRAC/VSSB Modules carry a 90 Day Warranty on the original part.
If the module fails to perform as designed you may send the module back for exchange. Suspected defective modules must be returned to UD Module for testing and evaluation, shipping at buyers expense. Modules shipped for exchange must be packed securely and contained in static protective bag, failure to do so will void warranty. Warranty coverage is the form of exchange only and replacement is at the discretion of UD Module. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs for replacement module delivery that is coordinated through authorized exchange process only. Exchange warranty service must be pre-authorized via contact email, any unauthorized returns or exchanges using the core return envelope process are strictly prohibited and will be processed as a core return. Multiple exchanges for modules cannot occur only one exchange part will be serviced. Returning a module in a core return envelope, dismantling, modification, chemical connector contamination, or exposure to moisture voids all warranty on the unit.
Custom Calibration DRAC/VSSB Warranty:
Warranty coverage of this specific product is determined by fault type of either (Type 1) Non-Working or Intermitant, or (Type 2) Speedometer Skew issue.
All Custom Calibration DRAC/VSSB Modules carry a 30 Day Warranty on the original part. This short warranty duration is the result of partial refund potential due to unsolvable speedometer skew warranty requests.
Type 1 - Non-Working or Intermittent Exchange Warranty
Type 2 - Speedometer Skew Issue
The aforementioned Type 1 terms apply to modules seeking warranty service, except exchange services. Issues where there is a speedometer skew (error) in displayed speed verses actual speed of 4 MPH or more at 60 MPH are handled the following way. Modules are calibrated carefully before shipping, if module label matches your configuration then the module has been calibrated for that configuration. If customer wants assistance in identifying the problem they must utilize paid troubleshooting services, if no paid troubleshooting services are purchased there will be no assistance. Should customer decline paid troubleshooting services they may return the module to UD Module by getting pre-authorization to do so towards a partial refund. Once module is received UD module will verify calibration, if matches and is correct as anticipated, the purchase amount excluding shipping will be refunded less a restocking fee. The restocking fee is determined by the terms of the policy page here. If an error in calibration is detected upon return, UD Module will issue corrective calibrated module without any expense to customer.
Speedometer skew because configuration differed and was identified:
Custom calibration corrective calibrations due to error in details provided during order are possible only during warranty duration. A $20 handling fee plus shipping bills separately before return of unit to customer.
DIY Module Warranty:
DIY Modules carry a 30 day limited parts warranty and offer no support. Replacement warranty limited to replacement only when a complete module failure has occurred. A complete failure is a unit that will no longer provide signal to devices it connects to in an original GM vehicle application. Power train adaptations using a DIY module are not eligible for warranty consideration. Warranty services are not considered for speedometer skew or calibration issues. Correct application of the right type of module for the application is the buyers responsibility. Exchange units may be available for the wrong module purchased at the buyer's expense for handling and shipping back and forth. Exchanges to other module products of either OE or Custom Calibration modules will incur a service charge fee and applicable shipping costs.
Non-Transferable Warranty:
All module products have a non-transferable warranty, claims for warranty available only to the original purchaser.
Technical Support:
By purchasing a standard re-manufactured module UD Module does not offer any technical services for troubleshooting your application with that DRAC VSSB module. Technical services may be purchased separately here.
Modules with Tech Support offer guidance and documentation resources provided via email only. Tech Support service does not guarantee correction of vehicle problems as this is the responsibility of the shop or owner of the vehicle to correct. The tech support is simply guidance towards finding the real problem performed remotely via email. Tech support service only available for UD Re-manufactured modules, excludes DIY modules.
Module Testing:
UD Module can test sold product modules that are returned for warranty services only. Testing of an in-warranty unit is not required to process a warranty exchange request. Exchange warranty requests are granted when the returned unit is eligible for warranty services, a replacement unit is provided regardless of any test findings. Testing may occur during the warranty process when factors indicate additional verification needed, like when a customer has purchased paid troubleshooting services and technician led diagnostics indicate a need for verification. Other scenarios for testing will be declined like the request to test a sold product module and a customer's original module at the same time.
